Job Description

You will be responsible for:

• To strengthen the international supply chain having due regard to quality, cost and flexibility. A proactive approach to global sourcing encouraging best practices. The ability to differentiate between tactical and strategic issues taking an active role in both areas. Placing orders.

• To ensure that scheduled orders are received on time, whilst identifying and implementing ways of improving supplier lead times and supply chain flexibility.

• To assist in resolving supplier quality issues ensuring solutions are put in place.

• Measure and analyse supplier performance on quality, on time delivery and cost versus our standard, and help identify opportunities for improvement.

• Ability to build open and professional relationships with suppliers.

• Driving key projects and initiatives within the department.

• Checking confirmation from suppliers against orders.

• Ability to communicate at all levels within the business.

You should have experience of dealing with suppliers/manufacturers on a global basis (China, India and Europe) in technology based industries i.e. audio, lighting, satellite, TV and security.

Computerised buying experience essential. You must have a proven track record in contract negotiation, negotiating/liaising with suppliers and organising and carrying out meetings with suppliers.

You will have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, excellent analytical and action planning skills, be flexible, a team player and numerate.
